LinuxVermont has  created a Open Source Computer and Software  database  accessible using  a Web browser.  An Alpha version (pre release non-stable) can be found here.   Free support can be found at the web site.   We are using it now.  It will be upgraded to stable soon.

We are trying to get away from supporting non-business computers.  Please take your family computer to a brick and mortar business in your immediate neighborhood for prompt support.

Our current focus continues to be:  Servers, Databases and now...mobile computing.  We also continue to encourage your business to look into Open Source software solutions for your business needs where applicable.  Note that this web site is totally driven on Open Source software  (i.e. FREE) and is also cross platform.  Cross platform means that it runs on Windows, Mac and Unix derivatives.  It is a win-win.
  • MySQL database, ODBC connects to Microsoft Access and others.
  • Microsoft Access
  • Open Office Base (similar to Access)
  • OpenVNC, secure remote encrypted access to your data from anywhere in the internet.
  • Apache web server
  • Samba, for community file sharing  between Windows, Apple and Unix computers.
  • phpBB, a free message board software  application.

Mobile computing is a growing business driven by the availability of inexpensive web enabled devices and the proliferation of public access wifi.
  • mobile phones
  • pocket PC's :  Nokia 770/800 for one!

Don't get left behind.

Please visit this web site on occasion for updates to Open Source applications that we directly support.  Just because you do not see it listed does not mean that we do not support it.
